Feel Recognized at SimScale

How SimScale turned survey feedback into a recognition culture: Appreciation Week, peer-nominated annual awards, and an internal Hall of Fame.

Recognition is a cornerstone of employee engagement. At SimScale, we have spent years prioritizing feedback and appreciation as central pillars of our initiatives for workplace culture and employee well-being.

When we launched our first engagement survey over four years ago, it became clear that recognition was a key area for growth. We knew we needed fresh ideas to strengthen the culture we were working so hard to build.

This journey led to the launch of Appreciation Week in 2023, an initiative where we invited team members to publicly celebrate their colleagues’ contributions.

Since then, our efforts have evolved. Starting in 2024, we introduced our annual year-end Reward & Recognition Program. This program centers on peer nominations across several distinct categories:

  • Project Star ⭐: For those who deliver outstanding performance and exceed expectations on key projects.
  • External Recognition 👏: Celebrating positive feedback and impact from external stakeholders.
  • Cost Saver 💰: Recognizing proactive steps taken to optimize resources and reduce operating costs.
  • Innovator 🧑‍💻: For those who introduce creative ideas or processes that significantly improve our business operations.
  • Greatest Learner 📚: Honoring a deep commitment to personal and professional growth through continuous skill development.
  • Overachiever 💪: For those who consistently go above and beyond to deliver high-impact results for the organization.

All nominations are reviewed by a dedicated committee to select first and second-place winners for each category. To ensure these achievements are remembered, both winners and nominees are featured in our Hall of Fame, a dedicated space on our intranet that immortalizes these milestones.

Through this program and the ongoing efforts of our Engagement & Retention Manager, Preeti Dabelstein, SimScale continues to be a place where our team feels truly valued, supported, and motivated.
