  • It’s Women’s Wednesday at SimScale: Get to Know Zainib

BlogLife At SimScaleIt’s Women’s Wednesday at SimScale: Get to Know Zainib

Another week, another Women’s Wednesday! In this series, we want to put SimScale’s women into the spotlight and share their achievements, challenges, and excitements. In today’s edition, we would like to introduce Zainib, who is part of our Workbench Team. She joined SimScale in January of 2022 as an intern and since then has accomplished great things. In July, when her internship ended, we were excited to welcome her to the team as a Junior QA Engineer.

Zainib, what is your role at SimScale?

I joined SimScale as a Junior Software Tester. My work, as the designation suggests, is to ensure that the quality of the product is in conformance with the requirements.

    What is your background?

I am originally from Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Coming from a military family background, we always had our priorities very straight regarding having goals in life and achieving them. I was always a very inquisitive child so when it came to choosing which degree to do, I chose software engineering because it was something I was curious about and definitely made me want more of it. So, I have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Software Engineering.

    What brought you to SimScale?

My husband! He was already working at SimScale and suggested that I look into the specifics of the product. I found it very intriguing and was definitely impressed with the product. Since I always wanted to learn automation, I applied for a QA role and got the job.

    What are you proud of?

Multiple things. I was able to publish 9 international conference and journal research publications altogether in data science and blockchain when I was working as a Research Associate during the last year of my master’s degree. It was something I never thought I would be able to do. Then, moving to Germany, not knowing a single word of German, and still scoring a job within four months of searching. Also, settling down here even though it has not even been a year since I moved. All of it is definitely a challenge for me and I am all here for it — bring it on!

    What excites you?

Challenges, people, food, traveling, nature, and my own self-being. Oh, and I do a little bit of digital illustrating for my soul 🙂

What do people value about you?

    My intentions, authenticity, and love.

    Thank you for sharing, Zainib!
