Upon graduation from engineering school, Wayne started working with Fairbanks, Morse Pump Division in Chicago. After five years, he started his own rep business with a partner which later morphed into a manufacturing operation based upon a special pump they developed and patented. For over 40 years, Wayne dealt with centrifugal pumps which included water pumps, sewage pumps, vertical turbines and more.
