Hi, I would like to make a flow simulation of real F1 car. I found only STL file on the internet and The Incompressible Flow Simulation can´t work with STL file. So, I spent a couple of days in Fusion to repair mesh and generate solid bodies and export as STEP and Parasolid. Fusion was able to make only faceted geometry of the model. Then I imported the model into SimScale and it gave me warnings about Face-face inconsistency. Then I made 1 wrap of the whole model and errors disappeared. But I can´t generate the mesh because of some self-intersection.
So I am not able to move further in this project. Could you help me with this or suggest a different way to achieve my project goal, please? My goal is to make a Flow simulation of F1 car and simulation results compare with coefficients of real F1 car. Every help is appreciated!
As noted, .stl files are not for simulation purposes.
In any case, perhaps, the following documentation page will help:
“A self intersection in the mesh means that there are at least two mesh faces that are going through each other.”
For successful meshes, the CAD must be clean. Perhaps, performing the Boolean operation may help clean the CAD. See documentation page below:
It is also probably better to fix the CAD before sending it to SimScale. Perhaps, it may be helpful to first consider this past discussion. It may also help in understanding/resolving the “face to face inconsistency” error received after importing the model to SimScale.
Perhaps, other notes to keep in mind:
Try the hex-dominant parametric algorithm for meshing
