Hi SimScale team,

Could you help me fix a setup error?

Project: Octocopter CFD (X8, two-layer, MRF).
Analysis: Incompressible, k-ω SST, steady.

Error when starting a run:

“Please ensure that all CAD entities are assigned a material or advanced concept… Missing material or advanced concepts were detected for: The final 18 × 7 inch propeller (×8) …”

What I’ve set up

  • Domain: Cartesian box 5×5×8 m (primitives).

  • Air material assigned.

  • BCs: Velocity inlet = 0 m/s, Pressure outlet = 0 Pa, other faces Slip.

  • 8 MRF rotating zones (cylinders) with ω set and alternating directions.

  • Mesh refinements: region on all cylinders, surface on props/hubs, BL on drone.

Perhaps, the following information will help:

  1. The Incompressible analysis does not consider solid-fluid interactions and incompressible simulations with solid parts does not work. The incompressible analysis/simulation works for a flow region and solid parts/bodies should be deleted. The Delete operation in CAD Edit mode/interface will delete the solid bodies present in the CAD model. See this documentation page to learn how to delete solid bodies in the CAD Edit Interface.
