I am facing so much error in simulation. Please check my meshing and give appropriate sizing. Please check the rotating zone placement and direction of 2prop project. I want to find aerodynamic coefficients on the wing of this geometry.
Hi @vedantchaudhari thanks for posting on the forum and welcome to the SimScale Community
You seem to have attached a link to your dashboard, could you provide a link to your project? Make sure to follow the guidelines here before posting:
If you’re new to SimScale and are facing many errors as you’ve mentioned, I’d strongly recommend that you run 2-3 introductory tutorials before going to your own model:

Not able to generate mesh on propeller blades. I want to do the meshing and reduce non orthogonal elements. I’ve tried giving fillet to every component possible. I have tried everything in the refinement control from volume, surface to inflation. coarse to fine also. But the elements are getting out of non-orthogonal range
Also, the propeller is not rotating in simulation.
Hi @vedantchaudhari,
You seem to have deleted the mesh/simulation you mentioned in the post - in this case I can’t tell where the problem is exactly. However, I can still make a few comments:
- When this happens, it’s usually a good approach to fix potential issues with your CAD model. Maybe this article is helpful in showing some workflows for you to follow: How to Check and Improve Mesh Quality | SimScale
- For the propeller to actually rotate, you’d need to define an AMI rotating zone (since you’re going for a transient study). Here’s a relevant documentation on that topic: Rotating Zones | Advanced Concepts | SimScale
A final comment is regarding the transient nature of your study. Although it’s possible to run OpenFOAM transient studies, they need to be carefully calibrated taking the Courant number and the timestep into consideration. We have a must-watch webinar on this topic:
