What is the best way to do a simulation from a pipe of water vapor onto a solid object and seeing the velocity contour across the solid object due to to the the fluid flow from the pipe?

I need to have the fluid material to be water vapor, at 2 m/s, at 900 degrees celcius moving onto a solid that is place a distance 1mm from the pressure outlet of the pipe. How can this be done?

Hi @mattcaulfield9,

Thanks for posting your question. This kind of simulation with this solid body and the flow region is only possible via Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI), which is not available in SimScale yet.
In this page you can stay tuned about the new releases, and even suggest a feature (FSI for example) to be implemented in our platform by clicking on submit an idea.

Our Conjugate Heat Transfer analysis type allows this interaction just for the heat interaction between solid and fluid domains. If this would be helpful in some instance, here you have a great tutorial on that.

best,
