Mesh Export for Structural Analysis

Hi there,

Problem: I am looking to export the mesh used in a SimScale structural analysis (Code Aster back end) as a .med file.

Motivation: Run the analysis direct in Code Aster as a comparison to SimScale results

I’ve found several older forum references that suggest mesh export is possible, but it seems this functionality is no longer possible. My next step would be to fashion a mesh out of the ParaView results, but this is not ideal. Can someone guide me toward a solution (if I’m missing a simple export tool in the SimScale GUI), or confirm this is not possible?

Exporting Mesh

Hi, I wish to examine the mesh nodes and elements in data format from the generated mesh. For example, export to a data file. This is particularly important, as my interest would be more on the mesh that the simulation result. Is this possible within SimScale? If so, what are the steps? Regards, Ed

Export a mesh from Simscale to openFOAM

Hi, I created a Tet mesh in Simscale and I would like to export it to OpenFOAM to do the simulation. What I did is: -Download the mesh from Simscale (.med file) -Open the .med file in Salome and create groups (inlet, outlet, walls). -Export mesh from Salome (.unv file). -Open openFoam and use the command ideasUnvToFoam. The problem is that when I use the command ideasUnvToFoam it gives me an error. Can someone help me, please? Thanks, Blanca

Downloading the mesh after it is successfully generated is not supported any more, these are old forum posts
