Welcome! - Introduce yourself :)

A great pleasure to join your community thnks a lot

Hi my name is Alex. I am not an engineer in the academic sense of the word. My academic background and area of expertise lies in the social and political sciences. Other discourses I consider to be of worth are Theology Economy,Business and Philosophy. I have many inventions, creations and evolving ideas to formulate and therefore hope to collaborate in the near future.

Great @aodell - welcome to the SimScale community, looking forward to seeing your projects!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Allan. I am working as a modeling scientist at Fuel Cell Energy Ltd, in Calgary, Alberta.

I have been using ANSYS Fluent and Gambit for many years. It is nice to find this web browser based modeling tool. Would like to learn it and hopefully I can do something for SimScale and do something by using SimScale.

Thank you very much!
Regards,
Adong

Hi my name Ahmed Serageldin from Egypt. I am Ph.D student at Energy Resources Engineering Department in Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology(EJUST). My specialist in simulating the thermal performance of passive buildings relies on CFD conjugate heat and fluid flow simulation. I already familiar with CFD ANSYS software. but it is the first time to use SIMSCALE simulation. I hope it give me chance to extend ny experience in simulation by collaborating with CFD expertise.

Hi Ahmed (@aawad) and welcome! I look forward to learning more from you about the thermal performance of passive buildings.

We just hosted an conditioning and ventilation workshop which might be a good way to get started with using SimScale:

Hi, my name is Pedro Salas, I’m from Venezuela currently working as an engineer at InEnTec, in WA, USA designing plasma gasification plants. I’m a mechanical and manufacturing engineer.

I have experience in FEA and CFD using Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, Nastran In-CAD and Simulation machanical.
I just learned about Simscale and it looks great, I hope to put it though it’s paces soon

Hello Everyone

My name is Eric. I am a new user and just starting to find my way around SimScale. I deal mainly with thermoplastics and have used Moldflow, SigmaSoft, and Solidworks Simulation and Flow for many years.

I live and work in Upstate New York and I’m looking forward to becoming part of the community.

Hi! my name is alex, im an aerospace student at swansea university, having spnt the last 4 years of my eductation looking for cheep or free simulation i could run on my under-powered laptop i am very interested in what this has to offer, but having just purchaesed a highower pc rig for university (fairly) i was wondering what kind of gains does this offer regarding speed over other software like Micro CFD and solidworks. i also have a particular interest in ground effect flight, how well is this software capable of computing that? thanks
alex

Hi @Lemlurker - thanks for introducing yourself  I think rather than comparing speed, SimScale (being a cloudbased tool) can offer more flexibility- you have access to your projects from any computer and can run an unlimited number of simulations in parallel by simply changing the parameters of interest and clicking run.

As an Aerospace student, you might be interested in the recent aerospace workshop that we hosted in partnership with EUROAVIA: Aerospace Workshop feat. EUROAVIA: Compressible Aerodynamics of an Aircraft - YouTube

For more information on the ground affect, here are some projects from our Project Library.

Happy Simulating,
Anna
