You can typically find that the turbulence model (k-epsilon vs k-omega) must be selected depending on whether you have internal or external flow (in other words, near-wall or free stream flows).
The k-omega SST model is combines both to optimize the turbulence for both close to wall and free flow regions. This is the reason why it is considered to be the industry standard!
Thus, this is the default one for SimScale simulations and the one we recommend to use. Please refer to the following page for more details:
