Time in Static Analysis

Using SimScale Solid Mechanics / FEA

Hi, I am new to Simscale and FEA and am trying a static non-linear analysis. From my understanding, static analysis is not time dependent, unlike dynamic analysis. But I would like to know why there is an element of time involved in the setup of a static analysis (under Simulation Control there are options for Simulation Interval and Time Steps).

Hi Filia, this does not answer my question. Static analysis should be time independent, correct? Yet why are there settings regarding time in the setup? Iā€™m trying to get a deeper understanding.

Hi, these settings are about the loops that are being performed and do not represent real time.
