Simulation control

im trying to simulate an impact attenuator hitting a rigid wall at 7m/s , i need to have a total running time of 0.125s with 0.0125 time steps but im not sure what to put in the simulation controls in order to achieve this. any help would be much appreciated.

Hey there!

Your setup looks ok to me:

this the error that gives me , maybe its to do with the table?
thanks

I don’t see any inconsistencies in the table.

Looking at the solver log, the error message says:

“The initial time of the list is larger than the second time.”

Which is really weird.

I would try and apply time step values that cut the intervals in whole numbers to see if this fixes the error, because you have a lot of alarms about the mismatch.

i now get a different error and i honestly don’t know what to do.
thanks for the help!

Hey there!

I have seen this error in the past, and is due to the combination of physical contact and elasto-plastic material. I am not 100% sure, but I think it is a solver limitation.

Are you sure this is the best model for your rubber material? I think you should be better with the hyperelastic model. Please refer to this page for details:
