I have a question about how to create a rotating domain in SimScale. I am currently working on an assignment that requires me to create a contra-rotating propeller. In my previous attempt, I made the water rotate around my propeller domain, but I am required to make the propeller itself rotate, not the water that rotates around the propeller.

I’m using Incompressible because i cant access multi-purpose. any idea how i can assign my propeller as my own rotating zones? When I want to run my simulation, I am required to input the material of my propeller, but there is no material option available for the propeller. So I tried deleting the propeller body and leaving only the surface, but this ended up being the same as my previous attempt, which caused the water to rotate around the propeller instead of the other way around. I also thought about creating a circular domain, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it.

This is also technically possible with a transient incompressible study, with an AMI rotating zone, but multi-purpose tends to be much more convenient for this type of study.

You should be able to find some incompressible projects with AMI rotating zones in e.g. the public projects section.
