How upgrade as a hobbyist beyond 10 simulations?

I’m new to FEM and SimScale, but have slowly worked my way through a few simple vibroacoustic models. Eventually, my intent is to explore how changes in tonewoods (materials of construction for soundboard, back & sides, neck, etc.) and geometry for acoustic guitars affect the predicted acoustic response in a full-up Helmholtz model of an acoustic guitar. I would validate the results by test in my home studio. As a retired materials engineer and a musician, I’m a hobbyist in this regard. I’ve already used 6 of my 10 simulations, and 17 minutes of CPU, and I’m certain I’ll use all 10 free ones before I get to a working and validated guitar model. I’d gladly pay for a subscription, but the upgrade path from a Community plan isn’t clear if I’m not an academic nor working for a company. The only path forward is becoming a SimScale Power User, which would be fine but I’m can barely help myself, much less someone else. And even if I did, it says I only get a 1-month trial Power User Membership. So, my question is, “Is there a way to pay for a subscription as a hobbyist, without an academic or commercial email suffix? “ And following, if I were to enroll as a student somewhere, or form my own LLC, would this allow me to access SimScale? It’s contrived, but I’m looking for a way forward and I don’t want to waste my time learning SimScale only to be booted out just when I’m getting close to solving my problem of interest. I will need quantified output. Advise please. Thx.

Hey @jadeco ,

That sounds like an interesting project! We would love to hear more about it once you are able to complete the simulations on your end. You are right in understanding that as a power user, one of the main requirements is to be able to provide support on the Forum. However, one can always purchase a professional plan at SimScale.

If you have a company email address, you can fill out a pricing request form and then someone from Sales will get in touch with you ASAP to learn more about your simulation requirements and offer you a best-suiting plan.

If you are using a generic email address like Gmail, then you can simply write to sales@simscale.com to get in touch with the Sales team with as much information you can provide about the nature of your usage and requirements so that they can get back to you with an appropriate quote or with follow-up questions ASAP.

Best,
Satvik
