Hi. I need to understand the value of the flow rate of a bathtub overflow for a uni project. It comes from a EN standard I have to basically keep increasing the inlet flow rate until the water level is stable indicating equilibrium of the inlet and outlet and the record the value.
See my quicj image attached
I know I need to set the walls to no slip, the inlet to a table of increasing flow and the outlet to atmosphere. Anything else?
And how do I show the results that show a clear equilibrium?
Hi,
Initializing a portion of the domain with water would probably make sense, so you don’t have to wait for the bath to fill up from 0 (see this domain initialization on this page).
As far as checking for stability goes, I guess one option would be to monitor flow rates at the outlet and compare those against the inlet.
