Conjugate heat transfer for brake rotor

We are trying to do a conjugate heat transfer analysis on our brake disc to check how the airflow affects the cooling of our brake disc. Are we using the right type of analysis for this purpose? Also, we’ve been getting an error before the simulation run. what should we do regarding it?

Hi there

The Conjugate heat transfer analysis is the correct analysis type for this, as you want to simulate the heat transfer between solids and fluids.

Can you send me a screenshot of the error please?

Hi,

From a glance at the setup, one of the main issues here is that you are defining boundary conditions to interfaces, which is forbidden for CHT analysis (it overconstrains the system).

Basically, this boundary condition needs to be deleted. For more notes, please check this documentation page (Figure 6, inside an information box).

Cheers
