Auto starting Simulation in Hex-Parametric Meshes

Hello,

I have a question regarding being able to queue simulation while the meshing is still going. This is possible while you do meshing in standard mesher as you don’t have to select a different domain as in Hex-Parametric.

My question is, why isn’t it possible in Hex-Parametric to queue simulations? Would be really time-saving if that was possible as I wouldn’t have to log in every hour to check if the mesh is ready or not so that I can start simulation after setup

Cheers!

Hi Mihir,
this has the reason that with hex dominant parametric the bounding box of your simulation is generated while meshing. This bounding box is needed for the setup of the boundary conditions.
What you can do is first to create the mesh, and after that duplicate the simulation. This will keep the mesh assigned and you can start multiple simulations in parallel.

Best regards Sebastian

Another alternative to what Sebastian suggested is to create the flow region in CAD mode (before starting the setup). Section 1.1 from this tutorial shows the workflow.
