Velocity Components Using CFD?

I am new to CFD so you’ll have to forgive me if I am describing the situation poorly.

I attempting, or hoping, to use CFD to model a box with various aerodynamic surfaces attached to the side. The goal is to determine which design would result in the furthest horizontal displacement from where the box is dropped.

Is there a way to determine the velocity components of a falling body in Simscale? (i.e, the box is falling at -5 m/s. Due to the aerodynamic surfaces there is some amount force being imparted on the box which is causing it to move in the x or y axis at a given rate).

Hi!

From your description, this sounds like a 6 degrees of freedom (6DOF) application, which is currently not possible in the platform. This open roadmap page contains an overview of upcoming features and also allows you to suggest capabilities to be added.
