Simulation run errored out without advice

I tried to run a simulation last night, but it errored out. The Error Log didn’t give much away.

Clicking “Learn more” essentially just said “ask for help”.

It’s an electromagntic simulation https://www.simscale.com/projects/david_gmail/double-sided_stepper_1872625718.

The first simulation ran fine, but I didn’t like the flux density values of 11T in the iron!

I made a copy of the first simulation to make the second entitled “Design intent #2.”. I changed the B-H parameters for the iron from constant (with a Mu relative of 5000) to an input B-H curve. But this time asking it to simulate errored out. I have checked the B-H values, and can’t see anything wrong. I actually used values from Simscale itself but extended the values up to 20T to avoid any need for extrapolation.

Can anybody see what I’ve done wrong? Is 20T simply outside the calcualble range? Shall i just try again?

I copied the failed Simulation 2 into Simulation 3, then did some investigatory runs.

  • The first one was a simple rerun, no changes - it didn’t run
  • Then I edited the max B values down to 10T, but still didn’t run
  • Then I changed the material for a similar one from Simscale stock library.

This time it ran. So it seems to be something wrong with the material. But I can’t see what!?
