If you set your number of maximum processors to a value (say, 16) the simulation control gives you the capability of setting the number of multiple processors (presumably, parallel processing). Is there an advantage, especially in dynamic structural applications, for setting the multiple processors to a higher number than the default (4)?

The simulation will run faster with more parallel processes, however each process will have less memory assigned to it, which could cause errors related to insufficient memory. See this page for more notes: Memory Allocation Error | CAE Documentation | SimScale
