Round or rectangular geometry. What is better in terms of meshing?

As title says. If you can choose of having for example round or rectangular objects in your CAD model. What would you prefer? Or does it not really matter? What are your experiences?

Regards David

That’s an interesting question. Purely from a meshing perspective (without considering the physics part of it), to me a rectangular object is easier to mesh than a round object.

For round objects, in case you are not cautious with the local mesh size, you may get a “bumpy”/low resolution surface due to the cells being too coarse.
