Hi Alex,
Importing MED meshes is a little tricky, even I get some errors when I try it. The best recommendation would be to stick to the Standard meshing algorithm for best results.
That being said, I think you need to create mesh groups for each entity that will be used for simulation, including:
- Volume groups for each one of the parts
- For each part, face groups for each individual face
