Problem with my project

At the moment, I am in the 10th grade and my classmates and I have done an engineering project, namely a full-size car powered by an internal combustion engine. Now I want to conduct research in the field of aerodynamics and crash testing, I upload a complete 3D model in STL format, which throws me an error, like my file is not corrupted, could you help me with this, I need to submit my project to the commission in 4 hours

Hello,

I’ll post some general comments regarding this topic, in hopes that it helps you and other users:

  • In general, the stl format is the worst option to go for, unless you are going to run Incompressible LBM or Pedestrian Wind Comfort studies (both of which are not available for community users). You won’t be able to run structural analyses at all with stl files. See some details here.
  • Simulations involving complex/complete cars generally take longer than 4 hours, especially if you apply best practices (CAD clean up, mesh tests/sensitivity studies, etc.)
  • There are several tutorials involving automotive external aerodynamics on the platform. A good starting point would be to go through those

Cheers
