I am trying to remove oscillations out of Probe points plots of this project:
So this is what I tried to understand the issue:
If using k-omega I see nice converging probe point plots:
I though want to use k-omegaSST because I am interested in a good simulation near the ground (aka wall).
So if I use k-omegaSST, I get oscillations in these Probe point plots, e.g.:
In literature I see that reducing the mesh grid size could remove these oscillation (but in my free SimScale account I seem not able to reduce the grid size more [also remeber you can’t see in my free account the results of Probe point pots anymore]).
Secondy I read that changing the URF might help, so I tried URF(p,u,k,o):
- 0.3, 0.7,0.6,0.6
- 0.3, 0.6,0.3,0.3
- 0.4, 0.5,0.5,0.5
- 0.4, 0.5,0.3,0.3
None of these give a different behavoir: in someway convergance but with oscillations (not damping out).
Thirdly I read that one could average the oscillating curve (see this in above graph after 3000 iterations). Is this true?
Any advice how to handle these oscillations? Thanks for your help.
All the best,
Victor
