Organization of completed simulations, copy settings, and archive

Which feature do you need?

  1. The ability to re-order completed simulations and create folders
  2. The ability to quickly apply settings from past, completed simulations to the current simulation settings
  3. The ability to archive simulations without deleting
  • What is the problem that you want to address with this feature?
  1. Currently, completed simulations on the left panel are listed in order of completion with no option to re-order them or organize into folders. This makes it difficult to quickly find the simulation I am looking for.
  2. Currently, if I want to test a slightly modified version of a completed simulation, I have to open two tabs and switch back and forth, adjusting my current simulation settings to match that of the completed one. This takes a lot of time.

  • Can you share application examples, ideally with project links on SimScale?
  1. When you hover over the name of a completed simulation name, a circle with three lines on the right appears. Currently, there is only one option to delete that simuation. Being able to drag that simulation up or down to re-order it amongst the other simulations would be helpful.
  2. Clicking on that circle with three lines should give another option “Copy settings to current simulation”. This takes the settings used from that completed simulation, and adjusts the current simulation settings to match.

It seems there was a formatting issue in my original submission.

To expand on the idea of archiving simulations- There are some simulations I’ve completed that are not of use to me currently, but may be down the road. I request an “archive” feature that hides said simulations from view, but does not completely delete them. This is another way to “clean up” and organize my completed simulations list without losing those simulations and its data.
