Issue with meshing of ITO electrode

Hello, I am a ASE student conducting research on an active ITO system and I am running into issues with meshing the system to visualize the magnetic field generated. I believe that the issue is in the sizing for the device which is the micro-meter to nano-meter range. I was wondering what steps I should take to resolve the meshing issue.

Hi,

The Parasolid kernel (which SimScale uses) has model precision of up to 1e-8 meters. In the best case scenario, assuming that your CAD model has the maximum precision, the mesh precision will be at least 10x larger than the CAD precision, so in the order of 1e-7 meters.

As such, if you have geometries in the order of nanometers, you won’t be able to mesh them because Parasolid does not support such resolution. Basically the kernel cannot tell two points apart when they are separated by a 1e-8 - 1e-9 meters distance.

Assuming 1e-8 precision (which is not always the case), geometries in the orders 1e-6 to mid 1e-7’s should be possible to mesh.
