Hi Forum,
I am trying to do some CFD analysis on a model F1 car for a competition but it won’t import from Onshape or my computer, even though I’ve been using the right file type. This is the message that pops up:
The uploaded mesh file /tmp/geoconvert-input-dir-1971990442/Finished Product.xmm_txt is currently not supported. Please use a different version, or contact our support team for further assistance.
What can I do?
Thanks,
Seb

Hi @Team_Vortex, thanks for posting on the forum and welcome to the SimScale Community
This is a known bug with the OnShape integration - the team is already on it! It usually happens when trying to use the feature by exporting STL files, is this your case? If so, simply exporting/importing back in should do the trick.
As a sidenote, we usually advise users to avoid using STL files for simulation with OpenFOAM based solvers. Their faceted nature makes them difficult to mesh and might lead to simulation errors/crashes.

Thank you @igaviano, it has worked now but I’ve done the simulation and all the air is just rushing to the top of the flow region box, why is this happening and how do I fix it?
Hi @Team_Vortex,
Please share the project’s link (here’s how)! Thanks
I’ve just gone to find it and it’s not there? I’m just going to redo the test now.
Thanks,
Team Vortex
Hi @igaviano I’ve redone the tests but this is showing in the post processing.
Where is the airflow and how do I fix it?
Thanks,
Team Vortex
Hi @Team_Vortex, please share the project link!
