My name is Manit Sethi, and I’m a grade 12 high school student who started an engineering club.
I want to teach basic concepts to the 30+ students that joined and teach them how to use this software. Are there any suggestions on what I should learn first?
If you want more specifics, feel free to message me. I’ll send you the club proposal that I made for my school. So you have an idea of what I plan to do!
Hello Manit, thats very good! to introduce yourself and your fellow students to simulating on Simscale i would recommend starting with one tutorial for Rigid Bodies, one for internal flow, one for external flow and one for Conduite Heat transfer. i will post the link to a very cool tutorial, it will help you try and make both internal flow and heat transfer simulations! Thank you so much, Leo. I’ll learn how I can run this on my old laptop and show it to the students. Are there any more mechanics-based topics I could go over? And how do I create a project? Like importing car or engine models from another software?
Simulating in SimScale is basically a two-step process. The first step is creating the geometry, which you can do using almost any major CAD program, such as Inventor. I personally use BricksCAD for this part. Once the geometry is ready, you import it into SimScale and start setting up the simulation. Most tutorials only cover the simulation setup, but in reality, you’ll probably spend most of your time creating the geometry you want to use.
