How to Make a Heat Flux Step Function

I am running a thermal simulation of a PCB that has 3 components that are on for about 6 seconds, generating a significant amount of heat, then cool down for 54 seconds. I’m interested in seeing how the board cools down when these components are off and how it affects the component on the thermally isolated “island”. I set up 3 volumetric heat fluxes using the table without a problem, but even though I change the heat flux value to 0 in the 3rd and 4th rows (t=7 and 60s, respectively), it appears that the 3 heat flux volumes still are putting heat into the system.
Any guidance on how to change the heat flux to zero using the table entry method?

Hi @jorgenhansen,

In the table input, make sure to change this entry to t (in seconds). Currently it’s set to “x”, which naturally won’t work in your case:
