Heat transfer in batch reactors

I need to simulate the heat transfer inside a batch reactor. I wonder if I need to create a domain inside the reactor for that purpose.

Hi @Pedro_Henrique,

Yes, you need to create a domain inside the reactor and use the Conjugate Heat Transfer module to simulate the heat transfer between reactor and the substance inside it.
Would be really nice if you have a CAD geometry or a project link to share with us when you have another question in this project.

Unfortunately I still do not have a similar work about CHT here, but to me that is a good idea for a project to do in the next month :slight_smile:
Here you have 2 complete projects that you can see clarely two domains in the CHT analysis that you will set as well:

  1. Fluid Flow through a Heat Exhanger with Conjugate Heat Transfer
  2. CHT heat exchanger
