Gauge Pressure initial condition vs Pressure Outlet

I’m simulating a rocket and I am confused on the difference between the gauge pressure I am supposed to specify in the pressure outlet boundary condition and the gauge pressure initial condition. I assume that one of these is supposed to be zero and the other, the atmospehric pressure. Which is which?

Hey @QRET_aero,

What kinds of velocity are you dealing with? Gauge pressure is only specified for incompressible analysis and I assume a rocket would be compressible (unless some sort of rocket model).

Using a (fixed) pressure outlet BC, you are specifying the pressure levels at the outlet patch. This value will be respected during the entire simulation.

The initial condition is just a value to start off the iterative process. The field values will be updated in all cells after each iteration as the simulation marches towards convergence.

Can you post your project link here so we can take a closer look?
