Determining rotation centre for rotating mesh zone

Hello,

I am trying to run a steady state rotating flow of the fan geometry from the rotating mesh tutorial. The rotating zone boundary condition requires the definition of the centre of rotation. I cannot figure out a way to locate/measure the centre coordinates from within the viewer. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Fabian

Hi @falvarado,

I think you are referring to this example: SimScale

Thus, the coordinates would be (0,0,0). One trick is to go to Simulation Designer > Domain > Geometry Primitive > Point to confirm in the viewer that the coordinate is correct.

As of right now, the easiest way to determine the coodinate is directly in your CAD tool before uploading the model to SimScale. I understand you are doing our meshing tutorial, thus that doesn’t apply in this case.

Hi Anna,

Yes, that`s what I was thinking as well. I appreciate your prompt response. Thank you very much.
