Hi there,
I am trying to simulate external flow of air through an array of porous media materials. I am concerned with assessing the passive scalar quantity entering into each unit (I would also like to assess inlet velocity and pressure if possible). I am hoping to take the area average result control, however, due to the nature of the porous media being modelled as a cell zone, I cannot perform this operation. I understand I can place probe points at the entrance, however I’m concerned that this will result in a very large number of probes for the entire domain and possibly there is a simple way around it.
Is there any sensible way to measure a result control on flow passing through a cell zone?
In the screen shot of the CAD model below, air will flow from into each porous zone (shown in dark blue), in this case in the positive y-direction. This entrance region on the dark blue zone is the region I wish to measure an area average result control.
Thank you very much for your help.
