Electromagnetic evaluation of a custom 24 V three-phase inrunner motor for a humanoid robot shoulder actuator. The provisional design uses a 12-slot stator, 10-pole surface-magnet hollow rotor, 25 mm active length, 100 mm stator outside diameter, 30 mm clear rotor bore, and 0.5 mm radial air gap. Initial objectives are torque versus phase current, magnetic saturation, cogging torque, torque ripple, back-EMF, core losses, and thermal feasibility.
