Thermal and Airflow Analysis of a 55-inch Outdoor LCD Display The objective of this project is to evaluate whether the cooling and ventilation system of a 55-inch outdoor LCD display provides sufficient heat removal under its intended operating conditions. The simulation will assess airflow inside the enclosure and heat transfer from the LCD panel, LED backlight, power supplies and other internal electronics. Outdoor ambient temperatures and solar heat load on the front glass and enclosure will be considered. Key objectives: - Determine temperature distributions and maximum temperatures of critical components. - Identify hot spots, stagnant air zones and airflow recirculation. - Evaluate fan performance, airflow paths and the positioning of air inlets and outlets. - Assess whether sufficient cooling air reaches the LCD panel and other heat-generating components. - Compare predicted temperatures with manufacturer-specified operating limits. - Identify potential improvements to fan configuration, ventilation openings, internal clearances and airflow guides. The analysis will use the enclosure geometry, material properties, component heat loads and fan performance curves. The expected outcome is to determine whether the existing cooling design is adequate and identify any modifications required for reliable outdoor operation, particularly at high ambient temperatures and under direct sunlight.
