This is an attempt to model a situation where air is being entrained into a water diversion pipeline. The pipeline is used to divert a small amount of creek flow from one basin to another for hydroelectric power generation. The pipeline entry is near horizontal and then drops off rapidly to 15 percent grade. The goal is to estimate the volume of air entrained in order to size the proper air venting valves.
