Twin Towers MRF Wind Turbine

About this project

This project is a partnership between the architect rbstudio and the engineering graduate Matteus de Morais e Ferreira. The project seeks to represent the flow around a building and calculate the wind force on its front surface from a small scale model. A rotation zone of the MRF type was used to represent a wind turbine placed between the towers. The scaled model was placed in a wind tunnel simulating wind flowing over the prototype (real-scale building) at 8m/s.
