The goal of this project is to evaluate whether porous baffles can reduce free surface sloshing and wall impact pressure in a tank containing a shear thickening non Newtonian fluid such as oobleck. A transient multiphase CFD simulation using the Volume of Fluid method will be performed in SimScale. The tank will be subjected to oscillating linear motion, and cases with and without porous baffles will be compared under the same filling level, vibration amplitude, and frequency. Maximum wave height, damping time, wall pressure, shear rate, and apparent viscosity will be analyzed to determine the most effective baffle configuration.
