In this project I simulated convective heat transfer through a fin tube(Circular fin of rectangular profile) made up of aluminium alloy. I prepared a CAD model of the required geometry. Temperature function for the wall was applied as it carried hot fluid which causes wall temperature of 200 degree celsius at entrance and 150 degree celsius at exit. Then the value of convective heat transfer coefficient was defined (in tabular form as “h” varied with temperature) and convection boundary conditions were applied. The heat transfer was solved using steady state heat conduction in cylindrical co-ordinates. At the end of simulation I was able to view the Temperature distribution and Total heat flux generated through the fin tube. All the fin tube were at a constant temperature range as uniform rate of heat transfer was occuring which validates its good design
