About this project

In this project, the fluid flow direction in a rotating system is investigated. This project aims to recreate an experiment that I saw some while ago. This experiment is a container with hoses, that are able to rotate around the centre of the container. The hoses are either pointing out of the centre of rotation or pointing toward the centre of rotation. Consider the hoses pointing outward, if we rotate the system the water leaves in the opposite direction as the hoses are moving. Counterintuitively, when the hoses point toward the center, the water leaves in the same direction as the hoses are moving. The simulation is a multiphase simulation with a rotating zone. Full details about the simulation, the experiment and additional information is provided in the comments.
