Determine the Von Mises stress and total deformation of a shaft coupling joint where one end is fully fixed and the other end is subjected to a transverse load of 5,000 N. Download a suitable coupling joint model from GrabCAD. Apply the boundary conditions as described and evaluate the stress concentration regions near the key slots and bolt holes. Use steel (AISI 1045) as the material and check whether the design is safe using an appropriate Factor of Safety (FOS ≥ 2). Suggest any geometry modification to reduce peak stress.
