Determine the heat flux and temperature contours of a heat sink attached to the CPU of a PC operating at a surface temperature of 96°C. The fins are cooled by a forced turbo fan creating a convective film heat transfer coefficient of 30 W/m²·K at an ambient air temperature of 22°C. Using a suitable CAD model from GrabCAD (.STEP or .IGES), set up the thermal boundary conditions, mesh the geometry, and run a steady-state thermal simulation. Report the maximum temperature, minimum temperature, heat flux distribution, and identify the fin region with the lowest cooling efficiency. Recommend a fin geometry or spacing improvement to enhance thermal performance.
