Product-Based Case Study: Reverse engineering and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of a custom rear-suspension coil-over damper for a 250kg off-road electric go-kart. This simulation evaluates the internal hydraulic valving piston. The objective is to analyze the pressure drop, velocity gradients, and turbulent flow characteristics of 10W suspension oil as it passes through four 3.5mm restrictive bleed orifices at an extreme compression inlet velocity of 26.43 m/s. Results will be used to verify the theoretical damping coefficient for the dynamic 1-DOF quarter-car model.
