Simple fluid flow simulation of the target cooling system.

This simulation project will contain the original target holder fluid volume with updated inlet pressure (8 PSI). This project will also contain a geometry with a plate in the flow field.

This simulation scheme is to investigate the flow characteristics inside of a target volume design. The point of this design is to create turbulence in the reservoir for efficient heat transfer.

In this simulation we investigate the heat transfer properties of the modified turbine fluid volume. The intention is to contrast these results with the results from the Heat Transfer in Small Target simulations.

CHT analysis of the cooling system of the circular target reservoir.

This project will investigate how the flow field within the target holder changes with the size of the inlet/outlet diameter and depth of the reservoir.  The geometries of this project will have a tangential inlet and a central outlet. We will use an incompressible flow analysis.

Modification of the turbo fluid volume for cooling accelerator targets. This simulation looks at fluid flow only.

Simulating flow characteristics inside of a rectangular target design

This collection of simulations explores how the variability of the inlet diameter and depth of the target holder affects the resulting flow field. We will use an incompressible flow simulation scheme since the working fluid is water.

Heat Transfer simulations of target holder with heat transfer properties.

Analyze both steady-state and transient cases of the water cooling the target surface. This simulation does not show the cooling of the target backing surface, however, it will simulate the flow behavior of the water.
