This project, completed as part of the India Spacelab Rocketry Training - Aerospace Simulation Workshop, focuses on the engineering analysis of a rocket fin using SimScale. The study is divided into two primary phases to ensure the design is both structurally safe and aerodynamically efficient. The first phase utilizes the Finite Element Method (FEM) to evaluate the fin's structural integrity by analyzing Von Mises stress, deformation, and the Factor of Safety under simulated aerodynamic loads. The second phase employs Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to simulate the external flow region around the geometry, analyzing pressure contours, velocity streamlines, and wake formation to understand the fin's aerodynamic stability and drag. - Copy
