Three-dimensional linear static structural finite element analysis (FEA) of a crane hook under static loading. The hook is modelled as a linear-elastic isotropic steel solid. The top of the shank is fully fixed and the rated lifting load is applied as a downward force on the inner saddle surface. The analysis computes the equivalent (von Mises) stress and total deformation, and a mesh-convergence check is performed. Results are compared with curved-beam (Winkler) theory - Copy
