CFD analysis comparing a conventional propeller (standard UAV 9450 series) to biomimetic design features trailing edge serrations like an owl. The research uses Airstream inertial flow analysis to determine aerodynamic efficiency (L/D ratio) as well as evaluate aerodynamic/BMP wake turbulence characteristics as an indicator for noise emissions via acoustic signature. Computational modeling for the purpose of this project is performed using a k-omega SST turbulence model to predict boundary layer separation and vortex shedding at multiple RPMs.
