Objective: To optimize the design of an aluminium connecting rod by reducing stress concentration using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Simulation Type: Static Structural Analysis. Methodology: A tensile load of 10000 N, a compressive load of 10000 N, and a transverse load of 10000 N will be applied separately at one end of the connecting rod while the opposite end is fixed. The initial design will be analyzed to identify regions of high von Mises stress. Based on the stress distribution, the geometry will be modified by increasing the fillet radius and locally enhancing high-stress regions to reduce stress concentration. The optimized design will then be re-analyzed under the same loading conditions and compared with the original design in terms of stress, displacement, and factor of safety.
