Rocketry Training – Aerospace Simulation Workshop Project This project involves the structural and aerodynamic analysis of a rocket fin using SimScale. The main objective is to study the behavior of the rocket fin under aerodynamic loading conditions using FEM and CFD simulations. In the FEM analysis, the rocket fin geometry is created, material properties are assigned, and structural loads and supports are applied to analyze Von Mises stress, deformation, and factor of safety. In the CFD analysis, airflow around the fin is simulated by creating an external flow domain and applying suitable boundary conditions. Pressure contours, velocity contours, and streamlines are analyzed to study drag, wake formation, and aerodynamic stability. The project also includes mesh refinement studies and design optimization to improve structural strength and aerodynamic performance.
