Become an Expert in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

About this workshop

What makes a difference between a pretty visualization and a meaningful simulation result? Find it out during our free SimScale CFD Master Class and learn how to fundamentally increase the accuracy of your fluid flow analysis.

Participants will receive a hands-on, interactive introduction to the different aspect of fluid dynamics simulation (CFD) and will learn from top simulation experts how to leverage the free, cloud-based SimScale platform to receive accurate simulation results. Every session comes with an optional homework assignment that will help you put the gained knowledge into practice.

Submitting all three homework assignments will qualify you for a Certificate of Completion. All participants will get free access to SimScale with all the required simulation features. Please note that we recommend gaining some first experience with CFD and SimScale before joining this course.

Session 1

Session 1 - Wall Modelling

September 28th 2016 4:00 p.m. CET / 10:00 a.m. EST

In the first session we will introduce you to different approaches for wall modelling, which will help you to accurately predict drag and flow separations.

Session 2

Session 2 - Result Validation

October 5th 2016 4:00 p.m. CET / 10:00 a.m. EST

During the second session you will learn about numerics and results validation. We will show you how to predict the accuracy of your simulation and how to improve numerical settings to get your result faster.

Session 3

Session 3 - Multiphase Flows

October 12th 2016 4:00 p.m. CET / 10:00 a.m. EST

The final session will be focused on the analysis of multiphase flow systems. We will talk about the main differences when compared to single phase simulation and show you how to quickly prepare a multiphase simulation.
